TSD RENTAL 2017 Recap

It feels like I was just recapping 2016, yet here we are at the beginning of 2018 ready for another year full of exciting challenges and opportunities.

TSDRENTAL had nine releases in 2017 and we have another eight on deck for 2018.  Our six-week release cadence worked well for us in 2017 and we will continue that track for 2018.

Mobility was one of our key focuses in 2017.  Google defines “mobility” as the ability to move or be moved freely and easily.  Our goal with mobility is to do exactly what the definition of the word describes – allow our customers to move freely and easily.  We understand that our customers’ rental operations are changing as their customers’ needs and habits are evolving.

To address this transition, here are a few of the tasks we worked on:

  • Launched a new version of our Mobile app. The app offers a new intuitive user interface design with multiple usability improvements.
  • Developed a new Counter Bypass feature which reduces the amount of time renters spend waiting in line. Before their reservation date they will receive a text or email, allowing them to prefill their agreement information, via a simple to use webform.
  • Introduced several text messaging options, allowing renters to receive text notifications, text reminders, and text confirmations.
  • Included support for an EMV credit card processing mobile device. Be on the lookout for mobile EMV credit card processing options in 2018.

But our releases weren’t just about mobility, we did a lot more in 2017 including introducing Dutch and Italian language into our apps.  Welkom and benvenuto to our Dutch and Italian customers!  I encourage our customers to stay up to date by reading our release notes that accompany each of our releases.
